West Long-Term Recovery Update (5-28-2013)
Tuesday, May 28th, 2013 @ 7:30AM
Large scale demolition has begun. The first of approximately fifty homes was torn down on Tuesday. This effort will take several weeks of hard work. If you still need demolition, come by and put your name on the waiting list.
We need your help to identify opportunities for the volunteers for our upcoming 8-day Loving West event beginning June 15th. Several hundred volunteers from around the state are being called to come help West. If you are a resident and need assistance with any of the following: light construction, organizing, general clean-up, yard maintenance, yard clean-up, roofing, painting, etc., come fill out a work order at the LTRC or you can download a form from our website at www.westltr.org. If you want to be a volunteer, go to the website and click the VOLUNTEER button.
A door-to-door campaign will take place this Saturday in the main affected areas. Volunteers will be delivering a packet containing valuable information, including a blank work order form. We know many of you could use a few extra hands and you’re not able to get information from the internet, or you have not been able to come by the LTRC, so be sure to fill out that form and drop it off at either the First Baptist Church or the LTRC office at 218 N. Main St. next to the Czech American Restaurant.
