Darrin Banik
For the past 25 years, Darrin Banik has worked in the banking industry. Early in 1985, he began his career at the West Bank & Trust. For the next four years he worked to learn the banking business, spent one year with Norwest Financial, and in 1991, returned to West Bank & Trust and worked there for twelve more years. In October 2003, he began employment with Community Bank & Trust, Waco, Texas, and currently holds the position of Senior Vice President in the operations area of the bank.

A native of West, Texas, Mr. Banik attended West High School and received an Associate of Arts degree from McLennan Community College. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Management from Baylor University and received a graduate degree from the Southern Methodist University's Southwestern Graduate School of Banking in Dallas.

Mr. Banik's community involvement and leadership is extensive. He is a current member of the Church of the Assumption, where he serves as Eucharistic Minister, sings in the St. Cecilia Choir, and is currently serving on the Men's ACTS Team. From 1996-1999, he served on the Church Finance Committee, and was Vice President in 1999. Mr. Banik remains an active member of the Men's Fellowship Bible Study group.

From May 1992-2009, Mr. Banik was a member of the West City Council (Alderman). He served as Mayor Pro-Tem from May 1993-1994, and May 1995-2004. He is a former President of the West Chamber of Commerce (1992-1994) and was Director from 1991-1995.

Mr. Banik is a former member of the Kiwanis Club of West and served as President from 1999- 2000 and Board Member from 1996-2001. He served as Faithful Navigator and Faithful Comptroller of the Msgr. George Doskocil 4th Degree Assembly of the Knights of Columbus and is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2305. He served on the West I.S.D. Advisory Committee from 1995-2000 school years, served as Board Member of the St. Mary's School Board for five years, including two terms as Vice President. Mr. Banik served as a Board Member of the McLennan County Dispute Resolution Center from 2003-2009 and was past Chairman of the Board 2006-2007. He recently graduated from Leadership Waco Class of XXIX.

He currently resides in West with his wife, Torie and their two children.
